My documentary |
2/9/2017 0 Comments 2nd Channel 4 poster draftThis is my second draft for a channel 4 poster, I have managed to find a font similar to Channel 4, I took a closer look at other channel 4 posters and realised small details that make a big difference, I moved the text box away from the edge and added the website, I also changed the colour from white to brown which relates more to the poster photograph and the documentary itself.

2/9/2017 0 Comments Channel 4 poster draftFor this poster I got the channel 4 logo and changed the colour to plain white, I looked at several Channel 4 posters and they have the logo on the right in the centre with the text on the left near the bottom.
Channel 4 has a specific font that they use for their adverts, posters etc. which they created themselves, I found this font which is simple and bold which would be suitable, however, I will look for a similar font. Something channel 4 does that is very symbolic for channel 4 is putting their text in boxes of block colour. I am not completely happy with this poster so will aim to make another improved poster for Channel 4. 2/9/2017 0 Comments BBC poster draftFor this poster I used the complete photo, this makes the poster have a more positive atmosphere because of the pink and orange. BBC posters are usually portrait with the logo in the top left corner, I have created this poster as a typical BBC advert poster, including having the time centreline underneath the title of the documentary.
2/7/2017 0 Comments ITV poster draftFor our documentary we need to explore a range of different TV channels and the way they present their shows, we looked at the layout (where the logo is, the title, date, time etc.). We looked at Channel 4, ITV and BBC, these channels have specific ways of presenting their shows on posters/billboards. I used Photoshop to recreate a poster advert in their style. This is my recreation of how our documentary would look if it was to be aired by ITV. Their logo usually contains colours that can be seen in the photograph background, so I used the eyedropper tool to select colours right from the photograph. The green is the grass on the far left, the blue is the hue from the dog's fur, the dark brown is from his fur when the sun is on it, the pink is from his eye and the light brown is from his ear on the right. The green half circle over the bottom of the poster is an iconic part from an ITV advert, they aren't used on every advert, but are easily recognisable. I chose green because it makes it all blend together well, the grass in the back of the photograph and the 'i'. By looking closely at ITV poster adverts alike to this, I noticed they have additional add-ons which I was able to put onto ours, by having these on the poster makes it look more authentic than if I was to jut have the title and date. The extras are having the website and icons of the platforms people can view it on. 1/30/2017 0 Comments Double page spread and poster

Goals:
Specifications Use different camera techniques and angles to try and emphasise different emotions, (e.g. film a dog from above shows the dog being vulnerable, film a dog level to it shows it being equal and comfortable). Pan around the facilities to set the scene each time we move location or film the entrance signs so the audience knows where we are, when interviewing each person film in a location that highlights what they do in a sort of way. Show close ups of things within that location, e.g. certificates, awards, newspaper clippings etc. which will show the qualification or commitment of the person. Show the staff interacting with the dogs, not necessarily with then noticing to show their true behaviour with each other. Equipment Tripod DSLR filming camera Macro lens 18mm - 55mm lens Microphone 1/26/2017 0 Comments TypographyWe looked at a variety of fonts, we wanted to look as some that were relevant to our documentary's topic and others that would be bold and stand out. We looked at font's relevant to our topic that had a certain theme, we found four fonts that have a theme of animals/dogs.
We liked the font that had a paw print to dot the 'i', however, thought it wouldn't match the atmosphere of the documentary, alike the 6th, 7th and 8th fonts. Font 2 & 4 are similar fonts, one can only be used in capitals and the other can be used in lowercase and uppercase, this would be useful for if we wanted to use this font in our DPS we can make it less aggressive, however, I like the 4th font because of how clear and crisp it is. I like font 3 because of it's style and professionalism. I have narrowed down the options to font 3 and 4, depending on the poster and DPS we make, we will decide at a later date which we will use. |
